Paper Lust: Profiles in Letterpressing

I just recently discovered the wonderful world of letterpresses and card/stationery making. I am currently looking for 1 – 2 really decent starter presses. I never realized how hard that would be to do as a newbie. I am weary of buying one offline because I don’t want to make the mistake of purchasing a piece of garbage that happens to look like its in great working condition to me – as a result of not knowing what to look for or what questions to ask. But when I finally get one, boy oh boy! The things I plan to create! Hmmm….

SOME evil pair of marketing geniuses at the corporate offices of Starbucks and Apple have come up with the perfect plan to rule the people of America. Its simple. So simple, I wonder why it had not been done before now. Millions of Americans are being led astray each and every morning – through music and caffeine.
As if I needed another reason to purchase coffee OR music online, iTunes and Starbucks have teamed up and now, from Oct. 2nd – Nov. 7th, when you stop by your local, around every corner, on every other corner, with a drive through-Starbucks, you can get your coffee high and a free iTunes Song of the Day. The Song of the Day looks like a small trading card. On the back of it you will find a code that you can enter into iTunes and download the song by the artist located on the front of the card.
So, as I sip my morning venti skim white chocolate mocha with caramel, I am also banging on the keyboard of my laptop as I redeem some kick ass codes for tunes ranging in everything from John Legend to Annie Lennox.
Music is my addiction. Coffee is evil, (but good!). I came up with this nifty little equation that sums up what this marketing mischief between iTunes and Starbucks has done to me:
Music(iTunes)+coffee(Starbucks)=iCrack
iCrack.
Pure. Uncut. Powerful.
I am in trouble.
Deep, deep trouble.

Back on the chain gang

This is that all important first “Hello World” post that you normally have when you install WordPress that exclaims, “Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!”
But that is the problem. I HAD a blog before. I had quite a FEW blogs before. I never blogged. Well, that is not true. I just didnt blog the way I felt I should, which led to “blog guilt,” (something I will talk more about later) and after a few months of having nothing to say (or post actually); I just took the darn thing down.
